Zone 4/5 Reservoir and Booster Station
Vistancia, LLC, City of Peoria, Arizona
Wilson Engineers was retained by Vistancia, LLC to provide design services for the water and wastewater systems that serve the community of Vistancia in the north area of the City of Peoria, Arizona. The Zone 4/5 Reservoir and Booster Pump Station supplies water for Zones 4 and 5 of the City of Peoria's water distribution system. Water to the reservoir is supplied by a series of ten groundwater pumping wells. The reservoir and pump station site currently has 1.5 million gallons of storage. This project also includes the installation of a second reservoir with an additional 2.5 million gallons of storage.
The Zone 4/5 Booster Pump Station supplies water to the zones with two banks of six pumps, one set of six pumps for each zone. Two 600 gpm (gallons per minute) and three 1,750 gpm pumps have already been installed for Zone 4. To serve Zone 5, two 700 gpm and three 1,750 gpm pumps have already been installed. As part of this project, two pumps (one 1,400 gpm for Zone 4 and one 1,750 gpm for Zone 5) will be installed to meet increasing demand. A diesel generator provides back-up power to selected loads at the pump station. The generator was sized to run the Zone 4/5 Booster Pumps 1 and 2 along with the on-site potable water well (Well No. 10). A new generator will be installed to parallel the existing to provide backup power to the entire station. Well No. 10 is located on the reservoir and booster pump station site. This well pumps directly into the reservoir, and chlorine facilities on the site pump chlorine solution to the reservoir inlet and outlet.
