Ocotillo Recharge Facilities
City of Chandler, Arizona
The project involves the design and installation of four aquifer storage and recovery (ASR) wells to enable the City to recharge and store up to 1.2 MGD of effluent produced by the Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility within the upper alluvial unit. Each well receives up to 500 GPM (0.72 MGD) under the recharge cycle. In addition, the ASR wells were designed to allow the City to recover the recharged water (up to 400 GPM from each well) during times when water demands on the City’s reclaimed distribution system dictate the need. This project also includes the design and installation of a recharge pump station (2.8 MGD firm capacity) and several thousand feet of supply and discharge piping to and from the ASR wells. The purpose of the pump station is to supply reclaimed effluent to four of the ASR wells under this project and ultimately up to eight ASR wells, site conditions permitting. Wilson also performed Construction Related Services.
