Douglas High School All-Weather Track

Douglas High School All-Weather Track

The Problem:

Douglas County School District (The District) was approached by a local philanthropist to provide funding for upgrades to their track and field facilities at Douglas County High School. The existing facilities had drainage problems that often rendered them unusable. The project aimed to build a modern facility for the benefit and enjoyment of students and the community.

The Solution:

The two-million-dollar project involved designing an eight-lane, all-weather track and field facility, a multi-use football/soccer field, and a comprehensive upgrade to the existing storm drain infrastructure to support the improved facility. Additionally, the district asked the team to develop plans and oversee the contract for an adjacent equipment storage building, enhance the security fence around the project area, and install a new scoreboard for the facility.

The Results:

The project was successfully completed and has become a symbol of community pride as well as a vital part of the District’s overall athletic infrastructure.
