Pioneering Projects for Clean, Reliable Water

City of Chandler, AZ
Airport Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)
and Ocotillo WRF Improvements

Wilson Engineers managed the expansion of Chandler's Airport Water Reclamation Facility

Wilson provided services for four distinct projects associated with the Airport WRF, starting with the initial 5 MGD design and followed by three additional 5 MGD expansions over a 20-year period. The OWRF/AWRF lift station built within the Ocotillo WRF can now pump up to 20 MGD to the Airport WRF. Other project improvements included technology upgrades, relief of hydraulic constraints, improvements in process reliability, and enhanced operational flexibility.

  • The improvements at both plants significantly improved the reliability of the City’s overall water reclamation treatment system. 

  • Operations at each facility were adjusted multiple times to maintain uninterrupted wastewater treatment and reclaimed water deliveries.
