Pioneering Projects for Clean, Reliable Water

City of Buckeye, AZ
Floreo at Teravalis Water Reclamation Facility (WRF)

Floreo Rending

Floreo at Teravalis WRF is planned as a regional wastewater treatment facility. Wilson was contracted by the developer, the Howard Hughes Corporation, to design the Phase 1 facility with a capacity of 1.3 MGD and to create a master plan for the WRF with a capacity of 11 MGD. The facility is proposed as a conventional activated sludge process, utilizing aeration basins and secondary clarifiers for secondary treatment. Upon completion, it will feature screening and grit removal, disc filters, UV disinfection, sludge holding tanks, belt filter presses, and odor control systems. The wastewater will be treated to Class A+ reclaimed water standards and is planned to be reused from the Floreo WRF throughout the Teravalis community for the irrigation of lakes and landscaping. This phase involved developing key infrastructure components, including aeration basins, secondary clarifiers, sludge handling facilities, and odor control systems, all designed to facilitate seamless expansion in subsequent phases.

Relevant Project Features

  • The wastewater will be treated to Class A+ reclaimed water.

  • The reclaimed water from the Floreo WRF will also have provisions for aquifer recharge via recharge basins.
