Wilson assessed assets and a needs evaluation study to identify rehabilitation items at the Union Hills WTP. These items were identified through a series of workshops and evaluations of the mechanical and electrical equipment's condition. Costs were established for each item and prioritized from most critical to least critical. Upon completion of the study, rehabilitation items were selected based on their criticality while adhering to the construction budget. Plans and specifications were developed for rehabilitation and replacement, which included expanding the finished water electrical building, replacing the main 5kV switchgear Bus A/Bus B, the 480V/5kV Motor Control Centers (MCCs), the raw water 5kV electrical switchgear and MCCs, the basin hydraulic scraper, the disinfection electrical MCCs, and installing three new 50HP blowers with control valves, a new 12-ton chlorine scrubber system, and four new main Program Logic Controllers (PLCs) throughout the WTP.
