Pioneering Projects for Clean, Reliable Water

Carson City, NV
Washoe Stewart Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Expansion - Water Storage Tank

Wilson Engineers contributed to the Washoe Stewart LIHTC Expansion

The Washoe Housing Authority (WHA) selected the firm to provide services for developing 20 lots in the Washoe Stewart LIHTC expansion. The project included designing a new 100,000-gallon water storage tank to supplement the existing storage capacity within the system. This entailed collaborating with the WHA on a design for a new at-grade, welded steel water storage tank capable of meeting projected future domestic and fire storage demands within the expanded housing community. A site-specific topographic survey and geotechnical report were included, providing recommendations for foundation design. Additional tasks included specifying interior and exterior coatings, determining the piping required for the inlet, outlet, overflow, and drain, and addressing appurtenances as per the applicable American Water Works Association (AWWA) D-100 standards for welded steel storage tanks, along with Nevada Administrative Code requirements for potable water storage.
