Thunderbird Reservoir and Distribution Improvements

Wilson prepared the design for the second phase of improvements to the Thunderbird Reservoir, which includes rehabilitating the existing Zone 2/3 pressure-reducing valve (PRV) Station and adding a new Zone 3 booster pump station (BPS) to replace the existing BPS. The reservoir improvements include the installation of aerators and blowers to increase trihalomethanes (TTHM) mitigation, improvements to the chlorine system, and the addition of a bi-directional isolation valve for added flexibility. Once completed, the Zone 3 BPS will have a capacity of 15 MGD, utilizing new vertical split case pumps with variable frequency drives (VFDs), electrical service, and BPS site improvements.
