Pioneering Projects for Clean, Reliable Water

City of Phoenix, AZ
Union Hills water Treatment Plant (WTP) Rehabilitation

Union Hills Water Treatment Plant

Wilson conducted a detailed asset evaluation of the Union Hills WTP to identify and prioritize plant systems that require rehabilitation and or replacement. A field condition assessment of over 5,000 assets was conducted, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. A CRV-Model was created to identify assets with the highest calculated risk of failure requiring rehabilitation and/or replacement. A Future Rehabilitation Plan Report was developed for the project, identifying Central Arizona Projects (CIP) for 4, 8, and 12 years. Based on the immediate findings, Wilson completed the design and construction of the high-risk assets first.

Relevant Project Features

  • Evaluated the remaining equipment life of the facilities assets. Provided recommendations to operations staff for self-assessing asset conditions in the future.

  • Updated facilities’ asset hierarchy spreadsheets and use of CRV-Model analysis.
